COMMITTEES
Committees are dedicated to improving Eastwood living and are comprised of individual groups of members who focus on specific projects and interests. A majority of ENA's community work is serviced by these Committees. All members are encouraged to participate in any/all Committee(s) of interest.
Green Thumb Committee

The Green Thumb Committee, working in conjunction with the City of Syracuse, is responsible for maintaining nine planting sites throughout Eastwood. Each Spring the Committee weeds, plants and mulches each of the sites. During the Summer, the Committee tends to the plants, and in the Fall, prepares the sites for the Winter.The Green Thumb Committee hosts a Gardening Workshop to offer ideas and answers to common questions. At the end of Summer, the Committee holds it's annual Free Bulb-Give-Away. The Green Thumb Committee encourages all residents to enhance their property to help create a "Beautiful Eastwood".
History & Archives Committee

The History & Archives Committee collects chronological information to preserve Eastwood's rich past. Each month, the Committee contributes a glimpse of "days gone by" to our . The Committee is also working on creating the book "Eastwood - A Village". The History & Archives Committee is actively looking for houses that were built around the turn of the 20th Century. If you have any information on an Eastwood "oldie", please contact Margaret McVicker.

Membership Committee is responsible for all aspects of Membership. Through our New Neighbors Network, the Membership Committee members contact all newcomers to Eastwood to WELCOME them and to introduce ENA. The Committee maintains all records on membership both past and present. The Committee members also greet people at ENA meetings as well as providing all the refreshments.The Membership Committee always welcomes new ideas for increasing membership in ENA and participation in its committee structure.

The Property Conservation Committee of ENA has been studying national and local trends in community development. The focus has been private residential property with the goal of finding better ways to manage our local situation. The Property Conservation Committee believes that we can take effective action to conserve the quality of life many generations have enjoyed in Eastwood. We believe that property owners, residents and non-residents, can work with all Eastwood residents, homeowners and renters, to achieve this goal.

Skate Park Research Committee

The Skate Park Research Committee is working to develop a Community skateboarding park in Huntington Park. The Committee, along with local youth and parents, and support from the Eastwood Community are actively fundraising and seeking grant money to cover the costs of construction. Along with the NY National Guard Counterdrug Taskforce, the Skate Park Committee sponsored the 2007 SK8 Jam.
Special Events Committee

Special Events Committee is primarily responsible for coordinating activities to foster community involvement, while raising funds and developing neighborhood camaraderie. The Committee is responsible for bringing most of our events to fruition. The Committee's efforts can be viewed in detail on our calendar.
