The Eastwood Community Garden is located in Eastwood Heights Park at the corner of Sunnycrest and Mosley. It was established in 2016. Since then, ENA has worked with City Parks, Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods Today, and Syracuse Grows to expand and improve this vibrant community gathering space. Follow us on Facebook for more info about upcoming events and projects.

Visit our Edible Row along the north side exterior of the fence. Help yourselves to berries and other edibles.

Projects and Events for the 2025 garden season

  • A major hardscaping project, funded by the City of Syracuse, ENA, and Eastwood TNT, will be installed by Green Scapes, Inc. making the garden handicap accessible. See image below.

  • The permaculture Fruit Orchard will be further developed adding native perennials/annuals and an herb spiral.

  • “Tuesday in the Garden” Spring Workshop & Lecture Series will be held at Paine Branch Library.

  • A garden volunteer will be meeting with interested neighbors for “Mindful Thursdays.”  It will be a chance to unwind from a hectic day, a quiet mindful time.

  • The large U-shaped bed outside of the garden behind the shed will be a demonstration bed displaying what can be done in a small space by building add-ons and companion planting. Produce from this bed will be shared with neighbors.

  • Advocate Gardeners will plant native perennials and annuals along the side of the shed for a Cut Flower Project. Flower arrangements will be placed in the farm tray for the taking and delivered to neighbors.

  • The Little Free Library contains books on gardening, healthy eating, and cookbooks. Take a Book, Share a Book.

  • A new mural will be painted on the shed in the next few months.
